OVOCLINIC OFFICIAL STATEMENT
In light of the recent reports published by various media outlets regarding the situation at Ovoclinic, we would like to communicate the following:
Accuracy of the published reports
These reports have been published containing false information and without first being verified with Ovoclinic, something we consider unacceptable and in response to which the appropriate legal action has already been taken.
Ovoclinic Seville
The clinic closed its doors in 2025 solely and exclusively as a result of the sale of the hospital to Grupo Recoletas, as Ovoclinic was unable to reach an agreement with the new owners that would allow it to continue operating.
Therefore, this situation was entirely beyond Ovoclinic’s control, and the clinic was forced to cease operations at these facilities and, as a consequence, terminate the contracts of many of its team members.
Ovoclinic Madrid
The clinic is temporarily closed pending the corresponding authorisation from the Regional Ministry of Health, which has had all the required documentation for several months.
The latest information received from the Regional Ministry is that a decision will be issued in the coming days.
Ovoclinic Marbella
The clinic is operating at full capacity, having both renewed and expanded its team and equipment in order to accommodate the large number of patients it is currently receiving and provide them with care as promptly as possible.
Measures adopted to support and assist our patients in Madrid and Seville
Ovoclinic has implemented a number of measures to support our patients and facilitate the continuation of their treatments:
- All patients have been offered the option of continuing their treatment at Ovoclinic Marbella.
- Patients enrolled in guarantee programmes have had the duration of their contracts extended until their treatments resume, ensuring that this situation does not reduce their prospects or the time available within their programmes.
- Patients have been offered compensation for any travel required to Ovoclinic Marbella.
- Collaboration agreements have been reached with medical centres in Madrid and Seville so that patients can attend their follow-up appointments in accordance with Ovoclinic’s protocols and under the supervision of the Ovoclinic team, without the need to travel.
- Patients with cryopreserved embryos in Madrid created using donor gametes have been exempted from paying the corresponding annual storage fee and have also been offered the creation of new blastocysts at no additional cost.
- The company’s Management has been reviewing every case individually and contacting all patients who have raised questions or concerns.
Refund requests
All refund requests are being reviewed individually, from both a medical and legal perspective.
Many requests have already been processed, while others are currently in progress. All requests will be addressed.
Processing times
It is true that certain procedures, both medical and administrative, are taking longer than any of us would like.
This is because Ovoclinic Marbella’s clinical and administrative teams are currently caring for patients from Marbella, Seville and Madrid who have continued to place their trust in us, many of whom have already fulfilled their dream of becoming pregnant.
We regret any inconvenience this situation may be causing. The entire team of professionals at Ovoclinic is working tirelessly to assist all our patients, always prioritising the safety, professionalism and quality of care provided to those who are currently undergoing treatment, which will always remain our priority.
Ovoclinic’s commitment is that all treatments will be completed and all applicable refunds will be processed.
